新父母,製定平衡工作和家庭的計畫

生完孩子後重返工作崗位會讓人難以抗拒。减少混亂的一個方法是(和你的配偶或伴侶,如果你有)製定一個平衡工作和家庭的計畫。
想想你想成為什麼樣的父母,你希望你的職業發展如何,以及這兩個領域是如何重疊的。你需要靈活的時間去托兒所接孩子嗎?你想一周在家工作幾天嗎?你未來幾年的職業目標是什麼?你將如何實現這些目標?
一定要考慮到你伴侶的觀點。一起討論一下你們每個人都想工作多少,什麼時候你們將作為一個家庭度過,以及你們的支持網絡是什麼樣子的。
一旦你有了一個計畫,就和你的老闆見面,一起討論這個計畫。遊說你需要什麼,並解釋你將如何繼續為公司做好工作。

It's hard to resist returning to work after giving birth. One way to reduce confusion is (with your spouse or partner, if you have one) to develop a plan to balance work and family.
Think about what kind of parents you want to be, how you want your career to develop, and how these two areas overlap. Do you need flexible time to pick up children in nurseries? Do you want to work at home for a few days a week? What are your career goals for the next few years? How will you achieve these goals?
Be sure to take your partner's point of view into account. Discuss how much each of you wants to work, when you will spend it as a family, and what your support network looks like.
Once you have a plan, meet your boss and discuss it. Lobby about what you need and explain how you will continue to do a good job for the company.
