How to refrain from an opportunity for a job promotion?
Most people expect the boss promoted, can get promotion. But you may be based on some considerations rather than promotion. At this time, how to refrain from the boss's good intentions?
Here are several good reasons:
  1. You think the time is inappropriate. The time of promotion promoted by a boss may be a problem for you or your family. Perhaps the promotions offered by the boss must be for you to move to another city, and you are preparing for a study, or your child is graduating from high school, or you have to take care of your parents, or your spouse has a good job and she or he doesn't want to go.
  2. You don't think you are ready. The new position that the boss provides may require some new job skills, and you don't think you have these necessary conditions.
  3. You don't want to be in charge. You like your present job very much, and if you are promoted to be a supervisor, you may lose such pleasure.

Do your homework beforehand before you deal with the salary
Before negotiating a salary agreement with a company's personnel or boss, it is best to have a realistic expectation. Employers usually set salary levels for similar positions and reference to the salaries they know of competitors. Employers usually set salaries in advance or are subject to budget constraints.
You should do some research work in advance, for example, through your network to find people who can provide your observations, such as whether there is a friend you trust in this company, or someone in a related industry, or a career development consultant. Ask them about the industry and the future trend of salary development.
Asking for information about the company's annual personnel and salary policies will also help you in negotiating salary negotiations.
However, it is most practical to have a self-knowledge of your work performance.

Job applicants should not be too conservative
Many job applicants are accustomed to adopting conservative strategies during the interview so as to avoid taking risks as far as possible. They read as much as they can, without saying anything that might sound ridiculous. Most of them spoke on the basis of their original resumes and the accompanying documents.
But job hunting is a highly competitive market. Unwilling to take risks, they may let chances slip away.
The interviewer must select the candidate who impresses him most among the candidates he presides over. Although the experience of the applicant and the attached documents are important, the most important thing is who he is most impressed with.
Therefore, a candidate must probably stop thinking about his ability to meet the requirements of the position and think about how he can stand out from a group of candidates.

Take a few seconds to recommend yourself

If you want to go to another department in the company, and happen to meet the head of the Department when you take the elevator, can you recommend it in a few seconds, within a few seconds of the elevator or the company hall? This may be the only chance you have.
The message you want to convey must be brief and focused. What value can you bring to him?
For example, "Hello, vice president Wang, I am Julie of marketing department. I am very interested to know that your department has recently appointed a business representative in Shanghai, and I am confident that I can do this job well and contribute to your department. When are you free? Can we know more about each other? "
Do not include too many details in this precious short conversation. In the elevator room or in the company hall, it is not suitable for a conversation that requires mental thinking.
Your tone of speech should be calm and confident. You will want to know that you are a mature, reliable person, not an impulsive, insensible person.

Looking for a job? No need to go around
Unemployment can be crazy. But don't try to put your resume around 40 hours a week. In fact, don't spend 1 or 2 hours a day looking for a job.
On the contrary, you should spend most of your time building relationships and doing what you care about.
Most people find jobs through their connections rather than their resume. You should go to lunch with your former colleagues, call an old friend, or do some volunteer work. This will deepen your connections, and people will notice your enthusiasm, commitment and job skills. In this way, they may hire you or assist you in getting a job.

Break the barriers to high achievers
If you are high achievers, may have faced obstacles, it is difficult to continue to maintain a high achievement so. You already have a high achievement image, must be careful to maintain. Therefore, you may not be so willing to take risks, rather than in their familiar route.
How to break this barrier? Please refer to the following methods:
  1. Use your support network. High achievers are usually very independent. However, everyone will need the help of others. Ask the people around you, they think what skills do you enter the next stage of growth need.
  2. Admit vulnerable. In the face of the new experience, will make you feel very helpless, unable to reach the best state. But, you know this is just a temporary feeling, you can stop to achieve a more professional performance.
  3. Accept some small failure. In the practice process, there will be some small failure, accept it, and remember the lessons, learning to improve.

Look at failure correctly
I hate the claim that failure is the mother of success.
This is not only because such a statement is usually an excuse for comforting oneself to accept defeat, but more realistically, failure rarely guides you how to succeed.
This is not to say that I am very strict and can not allow failure to happen. In fact, I also accept that in the course of reform and development, the probability of failure is very high, or even very difficult to avoid.
The real concern is whether you will easily give up the big goal you want to achieve because you acknowledge the inevitability of failure.
You should be more vigilant about possible causes of failure. Because any failure represents a waste of your precious time and resources, which will reduce your chances of achieving real success and delay your time.
Therefore, you should make every effort to plan and prepare as far as possible so as to avoid reckless action.
You should grasp the lessons and learning opportunities of every failure, improve your insight and avoid the possibility of repeated failures.
Respect for failure is the key to your victory.
