Let To-Do List Live
Some people's To-Do List really helps to manage their work effectively, while for others, it's just a piece of waste paper that makes the list of work items longer and longer.
How do you make your To-Do List really useful?
  1. To split and refine. Planning to-Do projects is not about setting goals or tasks. You should break down the work process of a task/plan and plan the progress that should be accomplished every week or every day so that the goal of the task can be achieved step by step. If your To-Do project is too big, try to break it down and refine it.
  2. Include details. Think about what actions you should include in your daily or weekly work. Instead of writing "Contact Lao Zhang", write clearly "Contact Lao Zhang, ask him to arrange the next working meeting to discuss XXX."

To-Do List

Maintain Your To-Do List by the Three-Day Rule
If you can keep crossing out projects on To-Do List, the work schedule will work. If a project stays on your list for more than three days without moving, then you have to take action.
  1. Take immediate action. It may take less time to solve the problem than you think.
  2. Schedule time for action. Find time to work on your to-do list. If it's important enough, you have to commit to dealing with it within a given time.
  3. Take it off. If there's a project you don't want to do immediately, or if you want to defer it until later, you probably won't do it. Recognize that this is not your priority item and delete it from your To-Do List.

Make clear plan for To-Do List to ensure that the work is completed
Planning each to-do item in advance can greatly improve your performance. Detailed practices will be done in advance for each to-do item. For example, you can change "Call Wang Dong" to "After lunch on Tuesday, I'll call Wang Dong to talk about cooperation projects. The cooperation plan should be submitted to him before Thursday. In this way, you can make sure that you follow the plan, do the cooperation plan first, and call at the appointed time.
Such a solid work schedule can relieve you of the perplexity of always trying to figure out what to do and how to do things well.

Make Your To-Do List Effective
If used effectively, To-Do List can save you a lot of time, improve productivity and improve your quality of life. However, in many cases, it is just a note recording many things.
The following can make you use it better:
  1. Classify well. Classify all pending projects according to the way they are meaningful to you. It can be categorized by task or difficulty differences, such as simple classes, which can be dealt with immediately as long as you do it. Give each category a name that you can easily identify.
  2. Choose the right recording tool. This recording tool should be something you like very much, such as a cute little notebook or a comfortable electronic notebook. It should always be at your side and easy to open.
  3. Write updates. Every few days, you should transcribe and update the unfinished work to a new list. This will help you remember and manage with new priorities.

Three kinds of people you have to ask for a new job
When you go to your new job, too much information will make you lose your head and don't know what to focus on.
The following three kinds of people you should not neglect to ask:

What are you going to do within 90 days of taking office?
If you apply for a mid-to-senior executive position, or even a CEO position, you are often asked a very challenging question: How do you plan to do your job when you take office?
You mustn't give any irrelevant answers, such as: I will study and observe the working environment. You can't leave the impression that you're slippery, dodging key challenges, or that you're conservative. Understand that it's also a tough decision for the employer to be ready to deliver a team to your leader.
You can respond to your understanding of the organization and the roles and responsibilities that you will assume, then connect the challenges you are facing with your past experience, and then offer your suggestions carefully, but also indicate that you need to know more details and listen to suggestions.

Start your new job right
Starting a new job is usually stressful. You don't know what you're going to face or how to prove your ability.
The following points can increase your chances of success in your new job:
  1. Plan your work procedure. Do your study plan well. Arrange with your boss the colleagues you should know, the departments or customers you should visit, and the products or services you should be familiar with to figure out the company's business processes.
  2. Ask more questions and give more opinions. Since you are still a novice, your inquiries and even your observations will be acceptable to your colleagues, and even your opinions can challenge their existing perceptions or stereotypes, allowing you to have opportunities for interactive discussions, so that they and you can enter into an atmosphere of efficient interaction more quickly.
  3. Win several successful goals as soon as possible. Once you get a little familiar with your work environment, set a few short-term goals and accomplish them as soon as possible. This will help you understand the procedures and resources you need to know at work faster, and let your boss and colleagues know your abilities.

Make sure you are solving the right problem
If you don't define the problem clearly, you obviously can't solve the problem correctly, but many people will ignore the detail.
Later, when you are going to solve a problem, consider the following:
  1. Why is it necessary to solve the problem? Why must this problem be solved?
  2. Dose it worth to deal with this problem? That is worth your time to solve the problem. To make clear this problem is in line with your company's strategy? Yourself, your team, or your company can get benefits from what?
  3. Understand the background. How did you solve similar problems before? How did others do it? What are the limitations and challenges to solve this problem?
  4. Write down the problem statement. Write down the answers to these questions, including the scope of the problem, the key points to be addressed, and who will participate in the matter.
