在接受公司外派前，做好與家人的溝通

獲得公司一個外派機會，是會令人興奮的。但是，你必須安排好，獲得家人的支持配合。要明白，一項外派調遣，通常需要你作出至少為期二年以上的承諾。也就是說，你和家人將長期分開居住，或是，必須集體遷居到國外，或是另外一個都市。在對公司作出承諾之前，你必須和你的伴侶或家人好好斟酌討論。

你首先必須考慮，你的職位外派，對家人和朋友，意味著什麼？通常，會有幾個衝擊：

1.    必須離開熟悉的城市、家人、生活空間，而你必須加倍的努力來證明你的外派是值得這樣的犧牲。

2.    如果你們選擇外派期間接受分居，對一家人的感情會有衝擊嗎？家裡如果出現了意外，你的配偶將要承擔很大的壓力。

3.    如果你們一起到了國外生活，你們在家鄉的資產，包含房屋、儲蓄、股票等，預備如何管理？

4.    公司提供的外派待遇與津貼，足夠你們在新的城市重新建立必要的生活需要嗎？你顯然必須做足夠的調查了解。家人能夠適應新的生活嗎？包含孩子的教育。家鄉的老人，以後誰來負責照顧？

5.    從另外一個角度，能夠獲得公司外派，也代表了你的發展機會。對你的家人來說，代表開拓視野、看到廣大世界、感受新的文化與價值觀的機會。你和家人有共同的希望與企圖嗎？

以上的考慮，不僅適用在你獲得公司外派的機會，也適用在你主動到境外去求職的發展。

Discuss with family before accepting company expatriate assignment

Company offers an expatriate assignment opportunity to be exciting. But, you must get family’s support. To understand, an expatriate assignment usually requires you to make at least a two year commitment. That is to say, you and your family will long live apart, or, must be moved to the collective abroad, or another city. Before making a commitment to the company, you must be with your family to consider and discuss thoughtfully.

You first have to think about what your job assignment means to your family and friends. Usually, there are several shocks:

1. You must leave familiar city, family, living space. And, you have to redouble your efforts to prove that your assignment is worth the sacrifice.
2. If you choose to be separated during your stay, will the family affect you? If an accident occurs in your family, your spouse will be under a lot of pressure.
3. If you go abroad to live together, your home assets, including housing, savings, stocks, etc., how to prepare for management?
4. Dose company expatriate benefits and allowances provided by company enough for your re- establishing of necessary living needs in the new city? You obviously must do enough investigation. Can families adjust the new life? Including education of their children. Who is going to take care of the old man at home?
5. From another angle, obtain company expatriate assignment, also represents the development opportunity for you, for your family, on behalf of development field of vision, to see the vast world and feel the culture and the new values of the opportunity. Do you and your family have a common wish and intention?
